Book Another Cruise?

Maybe you saw the Next Cruise Desk.  If there is a reasonable chance you will cruise in the next 12 months, here’s some things to consider (this information applies only to Royal Caribbean, which is what we have the most experience with):

  • You need to invest $200 before leaving the ship.
    • This “Book Later Form” is all you need to make a deposit.
  • Lines form on the last full day of your cruise; do the paperwork at least a day early.
    • Note:  you can drop it off, but we prefer to have the NextCruise document in hand.
  • If you use the deposit within 60 days, you can obtain additional savings - cost of stateroom reduction and/or onboard credit.
    • The form broadcasts “Up to $500 Savings” - sure, for a Grand Suite; we usually receive $50-$100 (still a worthwhile benefit!)
    • If you don’t book until after 60 days, you still get the deposit benefit, but not the extra savings, as long as you use it within 1 year
  • If you have an “Instant Cruise Certificate” from casino play, you need to book your next cruise within 30 days, and the NextCruise certificate is highly recommended to complete that reward booking (there are ways around that, with a cooperative RC agent, but much easier to have the Deposit in hand).
  • Don’t forget to mention your Travel Agent - there is no difference in what you pay, but you can maintain a good relationship with your agent, and obtain existing benefits from working with a Cruise specialist.
