December is a fun time to cruise. Sometimes the ships are not full to capacity, or there are bargains to be had in order to attract folks during a busy period. We enjoy the decorations and the general celebratory vibe.
Cabin - our first non-balcony voyage
- Oceanview Interior (Spacious) - we were looking for a bargain and chose to try out an ocean view. We were not disappointed. Since this time, we’ve sailed in Ocean View cabins that are not spacious (port hole vs. the large windows on this particular sailing). It’s always a cost-value proposition.

                    Will We Do It Again?
Yes. Even as an older ship (2006), Freedom is in good shape after “Amping Up” in 2020. There are sufficient entertainment options for a 3 or 4-night cruise. (Ice shows are a favorite.) Like many, but not all, ships, Freedom has an adults only Solarium, which can offer a quiet respite, depending upon time of day and the party mood of hot tub-ers.
